news-category: Campus News 秀色短视频-Webb and Town of Boiling Springs Host Webbstock ’22 By Office of University Communications On March 18, 2022 Music Festival Features Top Local and Regional Music Artists, Food and Fun BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥斝闵淌悠-Webb University and the Town of Boiling Springs are rolling out the red carpet down Main Street for Webbstock ’22 on April 9 from 1 to 10 p.m. This new event, cancelled in 2020 because of COVID-19, brings the experience of jammin鈥 music, good vibes, and lifelong memories, and the best news鈥攖here鈥檚 no cost to attend. It鈥檚 a celebration of the greater community, noted Vice President for Student Development and Dean of Students, Lesley Villarose. 鈥淲e are excited about the traditions, resources and talent that are here in Boiling Springs and in Cleveland County,鈥 she affirmed. 鈥淲e want to showcase all of this and have other people experience it. The best part of the festival is that our students are going to be able to experience something like this on their campus and in the town of Boiling Springs. They will be able to learn more about the town, the county and be exposed to music that has rich history here in Cleveland County.鈥 The festival kicks off with live performances by top local and regional music artists, food vendors, handmade goods by artisans, and kid zone activities. Main street will be closed from the stoplight to Decker Court. The stage will be near the intersection of Main Street and College Avenue. The event lawn will be in front of Webb Hall. The kids zone with rides and games will be on the lawn in front of Noel Hall. For attendees 21+, the Broad River Greenway will host a beverage garden in the parking lot beside the group of businesses on Main Street. Acoustic Syndicate Musical guests are: Acoustic Syndicate 鈥 Although rooted in bluegrass instrumentation, this North Carolina-based ensemble has maintained a diverse approach since their formation.The Phoebes Band 鈥 A fast-rising force, performing the perfect mix of Rock & Blues with soulful vocals, screaming guitars, and a driving rhythm section.Dirty Grass Soul 鈥 Proudly hailing from the musically rich foothills of Cleveland County (Shelby, N.C.), this group entertains audiences across the Carolinas and beyond.That One Band 鈥 Performs pop rock covers and party music. Boiling Springs Town Manager Justin Longino is excited to partner with the University to host 鈥渁 true street festival.鈥 He explained, 鈥淪hutting down a core area of downtown鈥攖he physical border between the Town and University鈥攃reates such effective symbolism for the community coming together.鈥 Longino continued, 鈥淲e鈥檙e creating this vast space for people to inhabit that they otherwise wouldn’t. When we come together for an event like this, it drastically increases our community footprint and allows us to bring together a broader group of people.鈥 In addition to the entertainment, Longino expects the street will be filled with a variety of craft vendors from all over the region. 鈥淲e want Webbstock to be an experience like nothing else in the area that people talk about all year long,鈥 he asserted. 鈥淎 day of good music, good food, and fun for the whole family.鈥 Vendor applications can be submitted until April 4.
