Philanthropy Week Celebrates Generous Gifts from ɫƵ-Webb Donors

Campus Gearing Up for Annual Day of Giving—Double Dawg Day—April 10

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Philanthropy.

According to Mirriam-Webster, the literal translation of the Greek root of philanthropy is “loving people,” a perfect match for ɫƵ-Webb’s mission, “Pro Deo et Humanitate”—For God and Humanity.

The philanthropists who give to the University are making life better for everyone on campus. While their contributions are appreciated on a daily basis, Philanthropy Week on April 7-10 is a time to pause and emphasize those who support Christian higher education at ɫƵ-Webb.

The celebration looks forward with anticipation to the University’s annual day of giving, Double Dawg Day on April 10. Since 2015, supporters enthusiastically accepted the 24-hour challenge to fund scholarships, enhance classrooms and labs, and improve athletic facilities and training. Each year, the total has surpassed the previous year with 2024’s donors joining from all 50 states and across the globe to once again break records in single-day gifts and giving.

Karen Bruce, interim vice president for Advancement, expressed her appreciation to each and every donor. “Your generosity is shaping the future of ɫƵ-Webb,” she emphasized. “Thanks to you, students have more opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. We are excited for what’s ahead and grateful for your continued support! Join us for Philanthropy Week and Double Dawg Day to keep the momentum going!”
