news-category: Performing Arts Winners of ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb Songwriting Competition in Concert on Jan. 22 By Office of University Communications On January 20, 2022 Event also Features Low Brass Professor Dave Wulfeck BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The winners of a recent songwriting competition sponsored by the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb University Department of Music will present their compositions on Saturday, Jan. 22, in a concert in Stewart Hall, Tucker Student Center. Held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the program is presented by the Distinguished Artist Series and the Alfred & Shirley Wampler Caudill Fund. The winners include: undergraduates, Sam Rollins and Jarin Watkins; alumna, Amy Lyn Reeves; and graduate student, Aidan Wirshing, who is an intern for the ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb Baseball team. The event also features GWU’s low brass professor and songwriter, Dave Wulfeck, performing some of his original songs. Other songwriters on the program are Dontavious Llyod, Jimmy Gilbert, Kim Ware and Jeff Wall. Judges for the competition were from the Nashville Songwriters Association (NSAI). Tickets are $10 general admission and free for students of all schools and their directors, and ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb faculty, staff and students. Masks are required.
