category: Advisory Coronavirus Information: Keep Up the Good Work By ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb University On October 16, 2020 Current Status As we Power Through Fall Break, we are glad to be together on campus protecting our GWU “bubble.â€� While trending numbers around us may not look good, on campus we are Bulldogs Together and Strong. Keep up the good work! As of Friday afternoon, October 16, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb continues to have no (zero) confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on campus. We also have no (zero) residential undergraduate students who have tested positive and in isolation at home. There are three students in quarantine on campus. Some are showing mild symptoms. Some are waiting to be tested or have been tested and are waiting on their test results. Some are asymptomatic and waiting for their 14-day quarantine to end. We have five residential undergraduate students who are in quarantine off campus. We have no (zero) commuter/graduate students who have positive for COVID. We have nine commuter/graduate students in quarantine at home waiting to be tested or have been tested and are waiting on their results. We currently have no (zero) positive cases of COVID-19 among our faculty. We have three staff members currently positive for COVID-19 in isolation at home. We have seven staff/faculty who are quarantined at home waiting for quarantine to end, waiting to be tested, or who have been tested and are waiting on their test results. Notification Process As a reminder to faculty and staff, individuals with actual or potential exposure to COVID-19 should notify their supervisor immediately, and their supervisor will then notify David Wacaster (704.406.3235), Barry Lane (704.406.2266) and Human Resources—Scott White (704.406.4259) or Frances Sizemore (704.406.3502). Faculty may also use [email protected] for any questions or concerns you may have regarding quarantine dates for your students. As a reminder, if you are a residential undergraduate student who has tested positive or who has had exposure to a positive case of COVID-19, contact Interim Vice President of Student Development Brian Arnold. If you are a commuter or graduate student who has tested positive or who has had exposure to a positive case of COVID-19, contact the Director of Safety, Barry Lane. Keep up the good work! Wear your mask, wash your hands and social distance. We are getting through this together! Student Support As part of North Carolina’s 2020 COVID-19 Recovery Act, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb University was provided state funds designated as financial aid awards to help NC students impacted by COVID-19. As of October 16, 2020, $293,343 has been awarded to 71 GWU students. Combined with the previous Federal CARES funds, GWU Emergency Funds and Flex account refunds, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓÆµ-Webb has to date distributed $2,266,519 directly to support students and their families.
